For the 14^th year in a row, Zagreb Film Festival is scheduled to take place at several venues across the city and most of the film programme, as always, will be hosted by Europa and Tuškanac cinemas. In November, Zagreb will once more become the cinematic hub for nine days, featuring a selection of the most attractive and interesting short and feature film from the entire world.

From the very beginning ZFF has focused on debut filmmakers – the main competition is dedicated exclusively to the directors presenting their first or second film, while the national competition (Checkers) each year gathers and presents many new names on the Croatian film scene.

Apart from Croatian authors, whose life and work has been systematically followed, in the past few years a special accent has been placed on local co-productions with other European and world countries. Their participation in ZFF’s programmes will be given a special prominence at the 14^th edition in the form of a separate presentation event before the festival. The competition, for instance, includes a successful joint venture between Georgia, Russia, Spain and Croatia, as well as the current Georgian Oscar candidate, House of Others by Russudan Glurjidze, a female director from Georgia.
